Al Friebe (CCDA, CCDP, CCNA, CCNP, A+, CCSI) has taught networking classes since 1995. He previously served as Global Knowledge’s Course Director for BGP and BSCI, and he is the author of our current ICND2 labs. His previous experience includes instructor duty in the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School, radio-chemistry, software engineering, and network management.
Dennis Hartmann (CCIE #15651, CCVP, CCSI, CCNP, CCIP, MCSE, VCP) is a Unified Communications consultant, author of Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Part 1, and a lead instructor at Global Knowledge. Dennis was first exposed to CallManager during the CallManager 2.0 time frame when Cisco acquired Selsius. Dennis has various certifications, including the Cisco . Bob Long (CCSI, CCVP, CCDP, CCNA, CQS) has worked with voice technologies since 1996 and VoIP technologies since 2005. He is a Cisco Unified Communications instructor at Global Knowledge as well as a UC Engineering Specialist at Mirafrey. His background also includes engineering and management roles in service provider organizations. Bob has authored several white papers and technical briefs on the subject and lives on the Silicon Prairie in Auburn, IN with his spouse, two children, and three cats.
Douglas McKillip (PE, CCIE #1851, CCSI) is the President and Principal Consultant of Innovative Integrators Incorporated, a Delaware Corporation actually based in Delaware. In addition to a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from MIT, Doug also later obtained an MS from the University of Delaware in Computer and Information Science. After 15 years of experience at DuPont, and a brief stint with the original start-up company associated with the Raptor Eagle Firewall, Doug began his now 15+ year career of teaching and consulting, specializing in Internet Security with hardware from Cisco since 1998.
Joe Parlas (CCVP, CCNP, CCNA, CCSI, A+, MCSE) has been an instructor for over eight years, concentrating specifically on Cisco Voice technologies. He has consulted for numerous Fortune 500 and 1000 companies such as Sweetheart Cup, Black and Decker, and McCormick Spice, and as a senior consultant with Symphony Health Services in various capacities.
David Stahl (CSI, MCSE, MCT, A+, Network +, CCNA, CCDA, CSE) is a retired Navy Officer, having served for 23 years in the Aviation and Communications/Networking disciplines. He has delivered classroom training for over 44 years in settings from the South Pole, Antarctica to The Civil Aviation Institute of China in Tianjin, PRC. His experience with wired, wireless, and satellite-based data networks began in 1970. He has taught Cisco career track courses in the CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, and Cisco Sales Expert tracks, as well as VoIP, security, and Content Networking courses. In addition, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Phoenix delivering both technical and business-based courses.
Paul Stryer (CCSI, CCNA) is a Global Knowledge instructor who also provides consulting service though his company LMLP, LLC. As an engineer at Cisco Systems Inc. for over 10 years, Paul was exposed to many different disciplines within the Technical Assistance Center (TAC). Using his Microsoft, Banyan Vines, and Novell certifications, Paul began with Layer 2 TAC and escalated his career into the Advanced Services Multiservice TAC. As one of the founding members of the Selsius (CallManager) TAC, Paul has worked with CallManager 2.1 to the current Unified Communications Manger 7.0 and all versions and technologies in between. Paul has continued his experience in the voice and data communications arena as a network integrator and contract instructor outside of Cisco Systems.
Jim Thomas (CCIE Security #16674, CCSP, CCNP, CCDP) has been in IT for a little over 17 years now. He started by supporting networks in education environments and from there he started teaching at the pilot Cisco Networking Academy program. Jim expanded his focus from Routing and Switching to Security in 2006, and is now branching out into UC and VOIP. He is now the Global Knowledge Course Director for MARS, SMN (Cisco Security Manager), CANAC (NAC Appliance) and SMN (MARS and CSM bootcamp). Over the years he has maintained a consulting business and traveled to different countries performing Security Penetration Tests, Network Redesigns, configuration verifications, and Vulnerability Analysis. He has consulted on enterprise level networks to ISPs, and from local city/county governments to state contracts.
Jason Wyatte (CCSI, CCNA, CCDA) During his tour in the USAF, Jason maintained, managed, planned, and installed computer networking systems for Distributed Ground Station – 2 (Beale AFB Ca) for operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. His daily tasks included maintaining secure communications for data and voice IP networks, fiber optic terminations, spanning-tree security, and VTP domain protection. Since leaving the military, he has been a Network Instructor for over three and half years, teaching all over the US. Most of the courses he teaches are ICND1, ICND2, CCNA Bootcamp, CCDA Bootcamp, and advanced switching.
